Dua Lipa is an English singer and songwriter who was born on the 22nd of 1995 in London United Kingdom. The year 2014 saw her debut as a singer and songwriter after having worked as an actor and model, she signed with Warner Bros Records. She made her self-titled debut album in 2017. It peaked at number third on the U.K. Albums Chart and produced eight singles including Be the One I.D.G.A.F as well as New Rules, the U.K. number-one single New Rules which peaked at number six in the United States. Lipa won the Brit Awards for British female solo artists and British breakthrough act in 2018. Her album was certified as platinum throughout the world. Dua Lipa, was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London on August 22, 1995. Through her maternal grandmother, she is of Bosnian descent. Her ancestors could also be tracked back to the Kosovo city of Peja. Lipa's grandfathers were both historians. She has a brother Gjin Lipa and a sister Rina. Lipa has been influenced by the music of her father who is the leader guitarist and vocalist for Oda, the Kosovan the rock band Oda. At home, her father continued playing music.
